Russia’s Kursk region declares emergency amid Ukrainian offensive, says governor • FRANCE 24

Russia declared on Wesdnesday a state of emergency in the Kursk region as its military fought off cross-border incursions for a second day. Ukrainian officials have remained silent about the operation, but announced a mandatory evacuation of thousands of people in an area just across the border from Kursk.

  3. The Ukrainian will keep advancing as long as Russia is preparing it's reserves in the back. Ukraine might be able to capture a few more villages on the border but by then Russian reserves will be on full strength and will be able to come to the frontline from where they will counter attack. Russia has huge amounts of reserves in belgorod so they wouldn't need to rotate troops out of the Donbass region. Ukraine made a huge gamble attacking Russia on home front since Russia does not have manpower issues it will let Ukraine take a few more villages until its reserves get to the frontline and then counterattack

  33. 3:44 this man is supposed to be an expert and he thinks the reason the Ukrainians struck Kursk is draw russian combatants into the region and away from the frontlines. this is small childs understanding of the situation imo.

    to me this is move of creating a bufferzone on the russian side, this will not draw combatants from the frontline as russian doctrine dictates that they can use conscripts on their own lands. meaning that the russians defending in Kursk region are not the same fighters as the frontlines and will not move the pressure like in the southern regions close to the river. not comparable at all…

    The main reason is to create a bufferzone for the cites of Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv as these settlements are in range of russian shelling.

    as a specialist he should know this imo.
