Russian forces aim to take key Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk at all costs
As Russian forces continue their push into eastern Ukraine, one city in particular is in Moscow’s sights.
During the Second World War, Pokrovsk was occupied first by the Italians, then in 1941 by the German Army with many of its residents transferred to labour camps in Austria before the town was eventually liberated by Soviet forces in September 1943 – 5,000 of its residents were killed.
Now, it’s once again facing a possible occupation, this time by Russian invaders, part of Vladimir Putin’s so-called ‘Special Operation’.

Ukraine brigades aren't sufficiently staffed yet? What is going to change that?
Delays in US Assistance havent helped. Funny, I thought we were by far, by far the biggest savior to them, to include before the war when we helped more than anyone modernize their forces. They would have been in much better shape but for their MASSIVE internal corruption. I respect them and all, but they are not a 1st world force and its about more than just logistics and we in the US, are SICK AND TIRED OF EUROPE! Half of NATO has made no attempt to pull their load in several decades and we should be pulling back and back if they are going to be serious about it, dont come crying to the US.
