It’s actually really simple how this happened: the assertion that there would be 60-100 major riots coordinated all at once on Wednesday was a lie based on one person’s post that was never supported by any evidence of people actually planning to participate in various online boards that people seriously tracking racist hate groups knew to look at.
Anyone with a drop of experience could have told you that this was just an invented story, but after a week of riots, the media just echoed this story anyway. And caused serious damage doing it.
