At least 10 killed in Russian missile strike on Ukrainian supermarket

A Russian missile strike hit a supermarket in the Ukrainian town of Kostiantynivka in the front-line Donetsk region on August 9, killing at least ten people and injuring 35 others, Ukrainian officials said.

The strike caused a fire that had been put out, the interior minister said. Heavy black smoke clouds rising from the destroyed building could be seen in the images and videos posted by officials.

“Russian terrorists hit an ordinary supermarket and a post office. There are people under the rubble,” President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on X.

  2. Brace for Russian trolls claiming it was Ukraine, or that it was a military warehouse… like the last supermarket they hit, also full of shopping people.

  3. If we are objective here, we notice that the SUV at 0:00 has military markings. It’s most probable that this supermarket has been used for military purposes, which does raise the debate, is it right to bomb buildings used by both civilians and military?

  4. Retired General Ben Hodges called it! He just said today when asked if he's worried that Russia might use a nuke in retaliation for Ukraine's incursion into Russia where they captured a few towns. He said "About all the Russians can do is hit another Ukrainian supermarket"!
