I don’t know if you know anything about De Ligt but he has the temperament of a player who thinks he’s the best player and a leader at the back – other players who are leaders don’t really like it , BUT at United he will get to be that leader at the back and he will be the main defender along with Martinez

  15. Bizarre that Bayern let De Ligt go for so little. Tbf that club has been a mess for a while now which is why they let Leverkusen past them.

    Mazaroui at RB for AWB is certainly a change. Still feel so long as Casemiro is in that midfield United will be compromised but it’s definitely evolving into a more offensively minded team.

Considering Juventus forked out €85 mil for him 5 years ago and how wildly inflated the market is that’s quite the coup for a 24 year old CB, especially if he can recapture his previous form at Ajax under ETH. Under the previous regime we’d have forked out €85 mil again for him this time round. My fucking god is it refreshing to have some competent people running transfers for the first time in over a decade…

  21. Not the player he used to be, but still a good player and only 24. His progress stagnated a bit. Good opportunity for him and the club to jumpstart his career.

    As for Man Utd, they’re making good moves but their fans also predicted they would go on and challenge for the title in 2021 when they signed Sancho, Varane, and Ronaldo (tbf at the time, that was an very good window)
    – then, again in 2022 when they signed Casemiro, Lisandro, Eriksen, and Antony (yes, Antony was still viewed as a great young player back then) a lot of noise was made.

    On paper they’ve done well. But 2021 and 2022 have shown even though buying good players in the market doesn’t necessarily reflect good performances.

  26. Yoro, de Ligt, Martinez, Maguire, Evans and Lindelof is a lot of CBs. Hopefully they finally shift Lindelof and then maybe keep Maguire in the knowledge he walks on a free in the summer.

    I’m also past being excited by now. I’m incredibly skeptical of any of top team willingly letting a good player go
