  1. “Dairylea has relaunched its Lunchables range under a new name, Lunchers.

The new name brings the range in line with the rest of the Dairylea portfolio, which includes Dunkers, Snackers and Filler Crackers, the supplier said.”

IMHO, they should be have gone the other way and renamed the others dunkables, snackables etc.

  2. If you have an airfryer, airfry them for a few minutes. Cracker, cheese then ham. Preheat the air fryer for a bit to stop it all flying around so much but to start check on it a few times just to check it hasn’t all blown around.

  3. That ‘n’ is driving me up the wall.

Either stand behind your use of slang in your branding, so get rid of the speech marks (apostrophes?) or just use an & instead.

  4. A new brand manager was desperate to earn their bonus, so hired a new marketing agency, and after many meetings they decided this would give them maximum points on their personal development review. Idiots.

  5. “Look, Finnemore, we’re in trouble. The brand is stagnating. Everyone knows Lunchables, but sales are steady. We need an increase to show the executives!”

    “Let’s rename them ‘Lunchers’, Sir.”

“Are you mad, Finnemore? Completely barking? Absolutely woo-woo?”

“No, sir, hear me out – nobody will *really* care, but it’ll generate some headlines and social media posts. The people who already buy Lunchables won’t stop buying them just because of that, but suddenly we’re in the news for a very minor reason – and some people might just say, *’oh, I remember those – haven’t had one for years. I’ll grab one on the way home’*.”

“My god, Finnemore. You’re an evil genius.”

“Well, I did work on the New Coke ad, Sir.”

“I shall have to let you procreate with my wife one evening this week. Good job.”

  6. Luncher sounds like an insult

“Oi, FUCK OFF you fucking luncher before I kneecap you”

  7. Maybe the original longer name will look too small when they inevitably shrink the package (and reduce the contents at the same or higher price).

  8. our focus grouping suggested it made people think of “the expendables” so we had to re-brand

  9. i mean twitter changed it’s name and no one seems to give a shit. it’s an institution at this point – maybe they just did it to save printer ink when they print out earnings reports, and since no one’s actually gonna stop calling them lunchables they don’t lose out on brand recognition.

  10. Even 7 year old me thought they were a bit crap but I still wanted them along with cheese strings and baby bells which are equally terrible it was like a fashionable lunch item lmao along with Thomas the tank engine yogurts but I think they were alright.

  11. idk abt u lot but i fucken loved lunchables when i was younger it was like dessert to me. definitely dont taste the same now but i dont see the need for the hate apart from the name change

  12. They taste completely different to the ones I had as a kid in the 90s. Absolutely revolting now, I had to apologise to my toddler for feeding it to her, the crackers are literally like cardboard.

  13. The name changed because in the UK, they don’t come with Capri Sun and candy anymore. In the US, where it originated, still does.
