Footage has been released, showing Ukrainian troops entering the territory of Russia’s Kursk region on August 6. Hundreds of Ukrainian fighters supported with dozens of armored combat vehicles and tanks broke through the defense line of the Russian army and advanced in the territory of Kursk region. Ukrainian troops have advanced up to 15km into Kursk, according to some reports. The operation in Kursk marked the largest-scale attack on Russian territory since the start of war in February 2022.

  17. Putin is a tyrant and a certain parallel can be drawn with Hitler regarding foreign policy. Hitler occupied Austria in 1938, Europe's reaction was lukewarm. Putin seized Abkhazia and South Ossetia from Georgia in 2008, the reaction was weak. Hitler won the Sudetenland in 1938 and later marched into the Czech Republic. In 2014, Putin occupied Crimea and helped the rebels in Donbass. And then in the end, after so many concessions, Hitler invaded Poland in 1939 and Putin invaded Ukraine in 2022. Both had complexes of national defeat and resentment. Hitler because of the Treaty of Versailles, Putin because of the collapse of the USSR.

  33. a lot of people don't' seem to understand why they would do this offensive but it's simple really. it builds morale within the Ukrainian military. They fear if Trump is elected he will stop money going to Ukraine. so I think they are stepping up timelines. This will make Russia react and several things will happen. one, they will track all the mass movement Russian equipment and will engage it. two, they will force Russia to take up a defensive posture, where they aren't prepared to do so. That puts them on same footing as Ukraine, no dug in positions that would give Russia a defensive advantage.. This will possibly move the war to Russian soil and out of Ukraine. That is the real purpose, to force Russia to pull it's troops back to defend, removing them from Ukraine.
