1. That is absolutely hilarious. And seems like a great idea in any country. Airplane accommodations are uncomfortable enough already. I’m sure that there are going to be a lot of stereotypes thrown about this because India, but it sort just makes sense.

2. I don’t know why they don’t allow all people the ability to specify genders that they don’t want to sit next to. If saying that you don’t want to sit next to a man is ok, then it’s ok to say that you don’t want to sit next to anyone because of their gender. To do otherwise is intensely sexist.
