  1. I had goosebumps watching the ceremony. Also, I’ve learned quite some interesting things about the πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· culture thousands of years back

  2. A tribute that is due and that unfortunately has not been seen often, but should be a constant of olympics games. The Greek contribution to world culture is invaluable and transcends the games we should remember this more often.

  3. It would have been nicer if they had used an ancient Greek flag (if they had such a thing) rather than a modern state flag. It’s a bit like representing Julius Caesar with an Italian flag.

  4. Greece deserves all of it!! Fantastic country and that did an amazing contribution to our civilization.

  5. I mean we are reminded that Thomas Bach is a 1976 fencing Olympic champion everywhere he goes, it’s only fair to remind the world that you guys invented the thing 2800 years ago.

  6. My broadcast cut to ads at this part! That’s incredible. I think this is the first time that aside from mentions in speeches, that the Greek contribution has been so explicitly central in a closing ceremony. Be happy!

  7. France is always fascinated by Greece, You are our inspiration and we will always love Greece ❀️

  8. You’re welcome. Have you seen our new fighter jets for sale ? We have some submarines too. Need any high speed train ?

  9. My dad is a Greek immigrant and I connect strongly with my heritage. This had me feeling all the emotions!

  10. This moment in the ceremonies was epic. France did an absolutely epic job at both opening and closing ceremonies
