  1. He really does the most mediocre street art. It was interesting 15 years ago when the mystery was there, and even though it still is, the mystery is now akin to “huh, who keeps super-gluing pound coins to the pavement” – knowing full well it’s someone less interesting than the normal characters you find in a standard Wetherspoons

  2. “Banksy” is just so … juvenile. The only reason I can think of that he gets so much attention from the BBC is that there’s some cosy little arrangement behind the scenes. It’s just garbage.

  3. Banksy is what it would be like if Jezz from Peep Show would try to be an artist.

  4. How do these get confirmed as bansky? Surely he doesn’t say so, isn’t the point that no one knows who he is? Looks like anyone could black paint a stencil

  5. Banksy is the perfect embodiment of name over quality.

These “artworks” are all genuinely terrible and low effort. But people go crazy over them because they are “banksys”.

Literally anybody can throw a stencil on a wall and spray it black.

  6. So that’s Banksy’s art nowadays? Looks like enshittification happened to him too.

  7. How come nobody ever sees Banksy doing the paitings? If I caught him doing graffiti on my house I would stick his paintbrush where the sun dont shine

  8. Why doesn’t he get taken to court for criminal damage? Or a civil claim by property owners?

  9. Have they found that wolf one yet? They found that person who stole the stop sign one in a few hours.

  10. Why is everybody assuming that these incredibly basic stencil efforts are genuine Banksys?

I know incredibly basic stencil efforts are his “thing”, but still, anybody could do that shit.

  11. These new ones just look really low quality, like someone claiming to be Banksy using stencils. There’s some truly great graffiti out there that seems to be so much more skillful than this. I have enjoyed some of Banksy’s stuff before and I’ve not heard the message behind these, so maybe that will add to their cache.

  12. Damn. Are we supposed to be interested? Like I can’t get away from it on the bbc and alike.

Nobody cares about some random stenciled pictures. How is it news.

  13. I would have thought that being the one vandal in the country who gets praise instead of being fined from the government would motivate you to advance your stencil skills by now!

  14. The piranha one looks good, the gibbons one is decent but the others are a definite decline in quality both in terms of idea and execution from his previous stuff.

  15. I doubt any of these are actually Banksy. Especially the stupid pelican. It’s just some stencil art.
