Battlefield Inferno: 14,000 Ukrainian Soldiers Downed in Russian Storm | Times Now World
In the past week, Russian forces have launched a series of high-precision strikes across Ukraine, leading to substantial casualties and significant tactical gains. From August 3 to August 9, 2024, Russia’s offensive operations, which included 19 combined strikes with precision weapons and drones, have resulted in approximately 13,925 Ukrainian military casualties. Key targets included energy facilities, air defense systems, and arms depots.
In the Kursk region, Russian forces repelled Ukrainian incursions, inflicting around 945 casualties. Meanwhile, Battlegroup South and Battlegroup West have made notable advances, impacting 13 Ukrainian brigades and 11 brigades respectively, with a total of 7,500 casualties reported.
The Donetsk People’s Republic saw significant victories with the liberation of three communities, but at the cost of approximately 2,520 Ukrainian casualties. Air and naval operations have seen Russian forces downing multiple Ukrainian aircraft and UAVs, while a psychological impact has been noted with over 50 Ukrainian soldiers surrendering.
Amidst the chaos, Ukrainian forces launched a major operation within Russian territory, prompting President Vladimir Putin to declare a state of emergency in Kursk and Belgorod. Putin has accused Ukraine of a “large-scale provocation” as the conflict continues to escalate.
