Context: she was the last finisher in the women’s marathon running. Took her the time of 3:52:59 to finish which is almost an hour after the previous finisher and crowd cheered her through out the finish line

  2. For the Rotterdam marathon it has become tradition for the winner to greet the last finisher at the finish line. I think that would be a nice tradition to get going for the olympics as well!

  3. Lhamo was walking at one stage- just exhausted and overwhelmed. The people of Paris walked alongside her (on the pavement) and cheered and supported until she regained her strength to run again.

They banged the fences and ran alongside, they lifted her spirits and got this woman round the last stage of the course.

It was Amazing. I love people!
    Her courage and her grit.
The public recognising she needed help.

    I love people!

  4. The crowd supporting her really was lovely, cheering as loud for the winner as for the person who struggled the longest.

But, I have to say, I found it really weird how she didn’t acknowledge any of it. I understand she was in pain, but it just felt really odd. She couldn’t raise her hand to thank the crowd?

  5. She’s run 3:26 in a Bhutanese marathon with 1600 feet elevation differences. And she was the winner

Maybe the Parisian heat killed her, or all the travels

  6. I am such a jerk, I am kinda stoned and thought she was winning by some insane amount where no one was near her, then realized quickly what was actually happening. I attempted a half marathon last year, it is grueling stuff.

  7. Raygun gets hate – she gets love. Let’s give Raygun the same love this woman got. They are not giving up – they are showing strength and determination!

We should cheer on the people who get off their sofas to do something and challenge themselves

  8. She finished sub 4 for a marathon and that’s amazing. If you have run a marathon, anyone who is runner would be proud of that time. Granted her time is nowhere near the elite runners it’s still great to see her finish strong and the support of the crowds to cheer her on.
