A weird bit of trivia that I always remember is: you could fit 5 of the entire island of Ireland, in to Texas.
I’m Irish and that always makes my brain hurt just to think of it.
TLDR: Texas is humongous, rich, and seemingly pretty talented 😄
as an American, shut up Texas. i get that you’re a big importants state, but your arrogance is at the same level as California and doesn’t make you as cool as you think it does
edit: you’re to your. credit to u/Specialist-Fly-9446
…not /s i fucked up
California has 18 medals, Florida has 17, and Texas has 10. Good job Texas, you got third place!
If Texas was its own nation, they’d come in like 200th in electrical grid reliability.
What horrible English in that Photo-poster!
“It Would’ve Came?”… seriously improper 😬
As long as Michigan beat Ohio we’re good to go.
Considering Australia has less people and did better than that, not really.
Why would Texas be its own nation?
Not if the EU was a single block
There’s an Italian town of 9k people that has 3 gold medals
I counted up the number of medals won by people with my name (Sara/Sera/Sarah) and I counted up 23 medals these games, 7 of which are gold. I guess I have a very Olympic name!
Indiana would have been 12th and Texas has a lot more people.
but dead last in the correct usage of past participles
Assuming that all those athletes would remain in Texas once it became it’s own nation.
So just looking into what happens to states the secede from their nations, and the problems they have that last generations afterwards.
Wait until you see California’s stats
when texas wanted to be its own nation, it was explicitly meant to steal mexican lands and reinstitute slavery after it was outlawed …
It texas was a nation it couldn’t afford to send anyone to the Olympics
Texas would have come in last. Without the rest of the nation subsidizing Texas, they wouldn’t even have snakes for their boots.
Now do Colorado Springs as a city only.
Yea but USA would drop to 2nd
If my mother had a kickstand she would be a bicycle.
Texas is almost the size off Europe. If we add up all the Gold medals of Europe they would win by a fckn landslide.
If Texas was its own nation, they’d all fucking leave.
Is this base on where people were born, or where they went to College?
Meh, this needs context. If Texas were its own country, it wouldn’t benefit from the r sources America has as a whole and wouldn’t do as good as it does as a part of the US.
assuming the athletes would choose to represent TX specifically
QLD in Australia won 11 gold medals with less than 6 million people. Not Bad.
