I went down a Wikipedia rabbithole today looking at the changing diagnostic criteria for autism. This is the end result. I’m visualizing data points based on the DSM and ICD, and doing so manutally in Adobe Illustrator. I’m no expert on the topic, so it’s highly possible that there are some errors. I hope some other people find it as interesting as I did!
Can anyone in psychology explain why this is happening? Because I notice it with other disorders too. Everything seems to get boiled down to one generalized diagnosis. Shouldn’t things be going the other way around?
I was looking to see where ADHD comes in on the chart… and it doesn’t. It just kinda shows up in the big pink section at the end
