Ukraine “seizes more Russian territory” in biggest incursion since WW2 | BBC News

Ukraine says its troops have advanced further into Russia and captured more than 100 troops. It’s the biggest invasion of Russia by foreign forces since the Second World War.

The incursion into Russia’s Kursk region began a week ago and took Moscow by surprise. President Putin has declared that the attack will be repelled.

Reeta Chakrabarti presents BBC News at Ten reporting by James Waterhouse, Steve Rosenberg and BBC Verify’s Olga Robinson.

  1. For over 75 years there was this fear fact about Russia, but in the last three years all that fear has evaporated after Russia attacked Ukraine. Russia is not as strong as people thought.

  2. It’s ok for Ukraine to invade Russia but it’s a war when Russia do it WAR IS WRONG KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE IS SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE IN THE COMMENTS DISGUSTING

  3. It's sad that Putin has turned the once proud Russian army until an absolute shell of itself. I hope this makes the Russian people understand that Putin needs to go if they want to get back any sense of normalcy.

  4. We all know that the West and its news channel only support their countries and also their allies… You guys underestimated the Russian army. The West can only dream of it. Please stop spreading fake news…

  5. BBC- why are you interviewing/getting commentary from convicted criminals without even noting they are CONVICTED criminals? Maria Valerievna Butina was convicted in 2018 of acting as an unregistered foreign agent of Russia within the United States. How bad will the BBC get, it's becoming a nation embarrassment?!?!?!? Pathetic.

  6. The mindless comments on this is shocking. All the sheep believing every word the bbc says. Russia will absolutely destroy the Ukraine. They are being tricked to enter as far as they can and the door will close. Game over.

  7. Ukraine would have been finished without the NATO countries giving support, I wonder why we gave them support and placed sanctions on ru🤔 the worst is yet to come

  8. Russian citizens are as much to blame for the genocide that is happening in Ukraine as Putin is. They have swallowed the propaganda and supported him not believing the independent news they see every day. The BBC being a Russian propaganda tool, immediately shows the invasion by Ukraine and showed nothing in 2022!

  9. It's just a game the US govt plays to gain votes, Ukraine is done, now they play this game,. Ww2 learned us NOBODY in the past could enter R without ending in defeat by Russia
