The rate at which they are losing APCs and MRAPs recently has been unsustainable, which along with Russian reinforcements is putting a damper on their maneuverability.
Ukraine invaded Russia, got behind all defenses and are holding a significant region. That’s not just an incursion, that’s a *salient*.
Do we know if Russia has been repositioning its troops in Ukraine? Is it alleviating pressure in other areas?
Onion Farm Clearing Season has begun!
It seems like the Ukrainians have reached the limits of their advance. Eh… if they really wanted to relieve pressure on Kharkiv, I think they should conducted a flanking operation in Belgorod but perhaps that was too risky given the concentration of enemy troops.
What do you think Ukraine’s end game is with this incursion? To embarrass Putin and draw Russian troops? That is happening now, but I’d be worried that Putin goes full scorched earth and bombs the shit out of this area just to flex and show how vicious he can be. Ukriane would lose a lot of men and equipment without much in return. I hope they destroy all infrastructure, set traps, and intelligence gathering equipment and swing back around the Russian flank in Ukraine.
breaching those fortification lines is a nightmare for Russia. if you get behind those 2 red lines you then create serious problems. You can pick and choose skirmishes as the defense tries to plug gaps.
Then according to Russian sources the Ukrainians advanced in 2 locations and geolocated footage indicates that they advanced in two others and consolidated positions in Kamyshnoe
That is great
Hilarious all these internet warriors here second guessing AFU command. As if they went in without a plan just to have a look see. Trust the armed forces of Ukraine to do the best possible with the resources available to them.
So it looks like Korenevo is close to falling; with the Ukrainians taking Krasnooktyabrskoe (what a name lol) they now are in a position to start moving on the hill that overlook Korenevo from the West. Requires crossing a river though. Glushkovo also looks like a valuable target now.
Kaliningrad next!
Personally with no experience whatsoever I think I would invade a part, force Russians to establish new line of defense, then retreat and re-invade somewhere else to mess with them and force them to spend tona of energy and resources
The online version of the same map also shows a Ukrainian incursion further west near Slobodka and Studenok. The “print” version shown above is too tightly zoomed to show it. Nikay_P had posted to report that omission, but it was deleted for unstated reasons.
Godspeed gentlemen.
hope they run into Putler and give him a tap, or two, on the forehead. Go Ukraine!
Genuine question from someone who is uneducated about all of this but curious: what if Ukraine assaulted Kaliningrad?

Taking Koronevo would be a massive win
