‘Grim milestone’: UN commissioner calls for ceasefire as Gaza death toll passes 40,000
Volker Türk, the UN high commissioner for human rights, has said the death toll in Gaza passing 40,000 is a ‘grim milestone’, as he accused the Israeli army to repeatedly failing to ‘comply with the rules of war’.

Gaza’s health ministry has announced that 40,005 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s military offensive on the Palestinian territory after the 7 October attack by Hamas last year. The ministry added that 92,401 Palestinians had been injured.
Türk said: ‘On average, about 130 people have been killed every day in Gaza over the past 10 months. The scale of the Israeli military’s destruction of homes, hospitals, schools and places of worship is deeply shocking’

This is a vast underestimate. Doctors without borders had estimated 128,000 deaths just 3 months ago.

As all information is coming from Hamas who actually started all this on 7'th October then used civilians as human shields its hard to believe if this is accurate as it could be more but probably less .
Also this could all end if real Palestinians ousted Hamas .
