That’s cool, my local bowling club did the same thing (I’m in Glasgow).
In the US, public support is a bit spotty. In one western state in the US (a proud Republican state), there was much verbal and visible support for Ukraine. Early, a Ukraine flag flew from the state capital building. Pro Ukraine rallies were held on capital grounds, with full state government support. Politicians were saying ‘we stand with Ukraine!’ Many roadside billboards had similar statements of support. This lasted for a few months (the billboards) and began to disappear. Verbal support thinned, and nearly all visible signs of support evaporated. Now, the sentiment held by most state Republican leaders is to argue vociferously against providing any more support.
I live in Saint John, New Brunswick in Canada.
The flag has been flying downtown since 2022.
NHS cured my partner’s breast cancer. She is a refugee; the only thing they ever asked us was her name. I am forever in debt before the UK.
We’ll never forget the brave Ukrainian men and women fighting against a crazed tyrant, and a populous with no regard for innocent lives. Though the media headlines may not be as numerous, we don’t forget, we remember.
Toronto citizen here. My condo balcony lights are the Ukrainian flag. My wardrobe has been replaced by clothing from Aviatsiya Halychyny, which is all made in Ukraine, and I wear it any time I go outside over the last two years as a show of solidarity (its a way I can promote the air force of Ukraine and support Ukraine economy at the same time). I also attend our local Ukraine festivals and parades. And donate to United 24 and Razom for Ukraine.
Yet I am not Ukrainian.
Your own country is also under invasion. I hope you are at least as concerned about that as well.
