11 days since the beginning of an incursion into Russia Ukraine continues targeting the enemy supply routes and Logistics in the latest Ukrainian haar’s artillery destroyed a strategically important Bridge outside the village of gisho in Russia’s KK region it lies about 15 Mi north of the border with Ukraine well within the 63 Mi cross B limits set by the United States for the use of its weapons both Russian and Ukrainian media reported on the damage to the same river bridge a logistical bottleneck used for delivering equipment to the front line Amit the increasing attacks Russian forces destroyed a Ukrainian reconnaissance and sabotage unit that was armed with weapons from NATO countries according to Russian media samples of small arms were recovered from the targeted unit near the village of crino in the KK region and this included Swedish made automatic carbine fire assault rifle as well as the US made M4 carbine assault rifle and the M2 Browning machine gun Moscow has alleged that the West Was directly involved in the planning of Ukrainian charge onto the Russian soil that began on August 5th now the country’s former security Chief Nikolai patev said and I’m quoting him here without their participation and direct support ke would not have ventured into to Russian territory meanwhile in East Ukraine Russia has turned up the heat on enemy forces Russia said its forces have captured serifa another Frontline Village some 15 kilometers from Ukraine’s Logistics Hub of pokrovsk moscow’s forces have been advancing rapidly towards pokrovsk prompting Ukrainian military authorities to urge civilians to speed up their evacuation for more on this we are now being joined by Fred Weir who’s from Moscow and he’s journalist and political commentator welcome to the broadcast Fair Fred first tell us how far do you think Ukraine uh can go on the Russia incursion and what sort of checks does it face from the West on the use of their weapons and what pressure does it really face on obeying them for of all it’s too soon to say um about uh what the impact of this incursion into K will be um it has probably reached its high water Mark um it doesn’t seem the ukrainians are pressing forward they’re certainly not going to take the nuclear power station at ksk uh so which seems to have been one of their obje Ives um so what what we can say at this point is the fighting is ongoing there and that um the initial uh advantages that the the Victorious mood that it was created because uh when when they did go in uh is probably starting to dissipate yes they Ukraine achieved a a psychological advantage morale boost a propaganda Victory and um that’s all it seems to be because otherwise this slice of Russian territory is very small it’s a tiny tiny fragment of Russia’s territory doesn’t have any strategic uh you know unique qualities um and the attack was extremely costly uh for Ukrainian military terms I think the main purpose of it was probably to force Russia to divert uh its forces from Eastern Ukraine from the donbass uh and and thereby relieve the pressure there uh so far that doesn’t seem to have happened um and as you you’re reporting yourself today the Russians keep advancing there so um we I I think we have to wait for a a a more definitive assessment maybe a week or two but uh the thing seems to be now um you know not not going to take any unexpected Direction Fred what kind of Retribution is there really visible from the Russian side well the Russians are trying to uh deal with this incursion by using forces generated from inside Russia that is not falling into the Trap of bringing the Army that’s in Ukraine on the front line there to ksk to defend Russian territory that’s a very difficult political thing I I guess for Vladimir Putin because there is a lot of pressure uh as you could understand to defend Russian territory from inv Invasion uh but he seems to be resisting it uh and um so that may be the reason that it’s going slowly uh I mean the Russian push back is is slow but it does seem I mean and again it’s the fog of War you you don’t really know but it seems like the Ukrainian Advance uh has ended I mean they’re not going to be going forward much further either because they don’t have the resources or because the Russians are starting to push back hard thank you so much Fred for joining us on the broadcast my pleasure thanks for all the latest news download the weon app And subscribe to our YouTube channel
