A Ukrainian soldier finds an elderly, disabled Russian woman in a house in Kursk Oblast, abandoned by her neighbors during the evacuation. He gives her water and food, and promises to get her to a hospital.

  1. It’s pretty clear that this was her situation before the Kursk Special Military Operation, which says a lot about how Russia cares for its elderly *and* the supposed “family values” they are now promoting to contrast themselves with the West.

  2. Why do these stories from Russia seem
more and more like takes from Clan of the Cave Bear, whether with regard to how they treat neighboring peoples or their own?

  3. holy shit, im sure she was already very skinny but my god how long had she been there??

  4. The compassion of the Ukrainians despite everything they’ve been through is breathtaking

  5. This is horrible. The highchair does make it seem like some family lived there and just left her behind! She looks like she weighs next to nothing and they could have put her in a carriage or stroller to move her 🙁

  6. How you treat your most vulnerable shows the world what kind of person you are and where you come from.

  7. There are some baby things in the apartment (high chair). They took the kids and dipped, leaving her there to die. I hope the army contacts her “family” and rip them a new one.

  8. Discarded in an abandoned home like trash, left to die of dehydration over a number of excruciating days, no doubt.

And he’s sharing his food and water with her, which I’m sure is limited in some capacity, god bless and keep him 🙏🏻

  9. wow…. incredible to see the difference in hunanity of the forces. This woman thought he was a nazi there to beat her to death for fun…. instead he is the only one in her own country who cares

  10. This is so damn sad to watch!!! I hope she get the treatment she needs. These orcs are heartless!!!

  11. Her family aren’t dead. She’s lying. There was a baby cot and high chair there. I doubt she has had a baby in a while. She’s been abandoned.

  12. Nah idk how the solider was able to keep his composure. If battle didn’t make me break down, this 100% would have.

  13. That’s beautiful to see.

The house seems pretty neat so other people have been living there very recently.

  14. I believe him – “we are not russians we won’t leave you” god bless Ukraine – hope they liberate all of russia from
    putins regime

  15. That’s how I imagine the majority of Russians and their mentality. They ruthlessly leave everyone behind to save themselves first. Even their own family! It’s simply unbelievable how little humanity most Russians have!

  16. This is gut wrenching. I hope we get some updates on this. Hopefully the Ukranian soldiers found an ID for her to keep her identified and hopefully get her back with her family.

As someone else said it’s possible that her caregivers were just cut off and not allowed to return home.

  17. The brief moment when she touched his hand on the bottle…that will probably be the last time she felt the hand of someone who genuinely cared about her.

  18. we need an update for this , i hope that she finds the warmth and care from the ukranians and possibly live the rest of her life in ukraine. this is just so cruel in so many levels

  19. I wish someone would kill putin already. The country needs fresh minded leaders so bad.

  20. Russia invading: Killing, looting, suffering.
    Ukraine liberating: Helping, caring, mending.

  21. It’s even worse. You can clearly see stuff for a little child there. So her son/daughter lived there with their child/children and just left her. I hate Russians more and more…
