This is like when I read in the Chicago paper about the “director of patronage” and had to check with a local to make sure that this illegal position wasn’t “official” (it definitely was legit, just not on the city books, so not sanctioned as a government job). It was at this point I asked how this was possible as it was blatantly illegal, and also how is the story discussing the multi million dollar scheme he was in below the fold in the metro section.
