2. It’s weird to see all this “we’re mistreating Goretzka” discourse that’s going on. We haven’t frozen him out of training or sent him to the under 21s or anything. He’s been told his current level of play is not acceptable for Kompany’s squad. And Kompany has chosen 4 midfielders for 2 positions whom he believes in more.

   It’s up to Leon to change this perception now, or to leave. He’s been told about this well in advance if reports are to be believed. And he’s still getting paid. We’re being firm here, not cruel.

3. Can’t wait for the upcoming Bundesliga season. After 14 years of supporting this club, I’ll finally be able to see a match in person in September!

5. I watched yesterday’s Real game to see how Mbappe will be implemented and how will they look without Kroos. And I guess it was as expected. Huge quality in the front. You can sometimes feel that chemistry is matter of time and this team will be very explosive when Vinicius, Rodrigo and Mbappe get comfortable playing with each other. But at the same time midfield looks really out of place. There is huge problem for midfield to actually use their attack. They will have big problems with teams that defend like Mallorca did yesterday.

   So I guess classic Real. This playstyle can win them Champions League. But for La Liga I guess it depends if Barcelona will have a decent run.

6. I’d like to know what we ar supposed to do by the “pro Goretzka” fraction.

   Taking him in the squad means leaving out another player, and looking at the bench vs Ulm there is not a single player I’d prefer Goretzka over

7. Someone said it in the Goretzka post, but even after the transfer window closes, i still can’t see him making the squad. If someone gets injured it is a different thing, but in that case he will most likely sit on the bench and not get any significant minutes and as soon as that person is fit again he will lose his squad spot again.

8. The entire public debate around Goretzka—who adds little to no sporting value and has been on the chopping block under several coaches recently—demonstrates just how absurd the situation is. It would be better to part ways with him sooner rather than later. The man has a lobby and PR machinery behind him that operates completely independently of his on-field performances over the years. Yet, this same media lobby continues to make noise, further poisoning the issue.

9. Kinda funny that our W7 has a big problem with this Goretzka handling, which, if it happened to any of his hate darlings, would gather his full support. Just imagine Davies, Upa or Kimmich on the other end.
