maybe with tragic events like this that affect the rich, officials will start to recognise extreme weather events and their correlation to climate change is something that affect all of us, disproportionally so, but it still does.
Consider being a billionaire and your superyacht sinks because of an unpredicted storm, very important!!!

This man was recently embroiled in a high profile court case in June when he stood trial for Fraud in the US (he was accused of defrauding HP).
After he was acquitted, he said “I only got justice because I am rich”.
