When I had my first place (20 years ago now) I bought a dismantled 3 door wardrobe from a local on eBay. I didn’t have a car, neither did my mates, so I attempted to collect the wardrobe in a “borrowed” shopping trolley and walk it a mile back to my place. Turns out you can probably fit a dismantled 1 door wardrobe in a shopping trolley, but not a 3 door one.
The seller was extremely kind and delivered the rest of it in their van the next day.

If you’ve got a newish top of the range Jag why would you buy a second hand wardrobe made of the cheapest possible stripped pine. And, if so, not pay someone with a van to pick it up and take it round to your gaff.
I have a convertible, I’ve done this way too many times. The sketchiest time was when I picked up a glass shower screen and put it in the back, and drove home slowly whilst it was ridiculously windy. The box was bent by the time I got home but the screen was intact! I’ve also driven home with a Christmas tree, and a palm tree, with the roof down.
