Third bridge attacked in Kursk region, Russia says | Ukraine-Russia War

A third strategic bridge in Russia’s Kursk region has been attacked, Moscow has said.

Sky’s security and defence analyst Professor Michael Clarke says this leaves the Russians with only a pontoon bridge on the Seim River, making it logistically difficult to move their forces south and leaving the area ‘at the mercy’ of Ukraine.

Kyiv has not yet confirmed the third attack, but Ukraine’s air force chief previously said its forces destroyed two other bridges in the region in order to weaken enemy logistics.

  1. It's pretty clear that this entire thing was planned out to a "T". Attacking now gives them 2.5 months to take land and consolidate gains, as well as possibly attack Crimea, before the cold weather comes. I wouldn't be surprised if Western intelligence services have a very clear picture of how exactly how many resources (tanks, IFVs, artillery) Russia has left and know exactly, what options Russia will have at their disposal in 2025. The noose will tighten, especially if Kamala Harris wins next year.

  2. This was an immediate political victory for Ukraine and every day that Russia can not dislodge them is a day closer to Putin standing too close to an open window. If Russia insists on keeping the focus on Donetsk they are risking the Ukrainians moving west and then consolidating their grip on southwest Kursk. We don't know what's possible with Ukrainian control of that area, I haven't seen a map of what's within reach of HIMARS, but the natural gas pumping station is taken, and winter is coming. And the last question, for which we will not get an answer until the historians get to this war – where ARE the Falcons?

  3. Stop asking the same questions every time around why Ukraine is inside Russia. The commentators don’t know and just make the same old obvious guesses. Lazy journalism.

  4. next zelunsky wants weapons to strike Siberia . lol

Russia is as big as the atlantic ocean , it wont have much effect.

Over the course of the operation, over 3.8 million personnel of the Axis powers—the largest invasion force in the history of warfare —invaded the western Soviet Union, along a 2,900-kilometer (1,800 mi) front, with 600,000 motor vehicles and over 600,000 horses for non-combat operations. and they lost , lol if it was the UK or the US they would be a German colony at the moment.

  5. I do wonder, a few years after this war ends, how so many of these Western "experts" will defend the setting aside of their brains for the sake of the media paycheck?? "…only a pontoon bridge…" Pontoon bridges are all Russia needs to supply and support their soldiers in this area. So what they can't bring up heavy tanks? AFU don't have that many themselves. This new NATO army has hundreds of light wheeled vehicles…Strykers/Maxxpros/Mastiffs/Senators, etc. The weak border guards are long gone; AFU been facing Spetznaz/Akhmat/VDV/Marines/Storm-Z now for a week; that's why all their attacks but for a few measly gains near Sudzha have been stopped cold. These are tough, experienced men who are the perfect counter to fast mobile / guerilla tactics. Whatever few tanks AFU has will just get a Lancet welcome like the Challenger 2 did; bridge or no bridge, AFU aint goin anywhere…."

  6. US serviceman who served in USAF for 10 years has joined the Russian army and fighting in the current war… His reasoning is reportedly that he is disgraced of US/NATO actions across the world and want to fight for the just cause

  7. Chip, if thousands of volunteers joining the Russian the Russian Army every month is not patriotism being inspired what is? U.K. army and U.S. army and German Army all short of men, no takers…….that says it all!

  8. Ukraine will not invade Russia if it doesn't have forces to spare. If they didn't do it, they could be conducting another costly offensive inside Ukraine but gaining only few territories. The Ukrainians cannot afford another failed retaking of their land because it will significantly reduce Western support to Ukraine. As Zelensky said, nobody likes a loser. Zelensky need to report the West some winning moments to encourage them to continue supporting Ukraine.

  9. Clarke works for MI6 PANTHER Propaganda group. Ask him about GLADIO, a Top Secret Terror Org. Created after WWII and run by the CIA & MI6. There mission is to destroy Russia & Expand Western Economies. Exposed in a 1992 BBC Documentary, several docs were de-classified last year. Our MP's are sworn to silence. Google Operation GLADIO.

  10. Excellent analysis as always by Prof. Clarke. I hear there's all bridges down now, with only one deliberately left intact right next to the border and under the watchful eyes of Ukraine's border guards.

  11. The key point is NOT that the Russians will find it both slow and difficult to move extra troops south of the river; what's vital is that it means they'll be unable to maintain a sufficient flow of ammunition, food and medical supplies to allow the troops thay have there as an effective fighting force. Right from the start, the Russians appeared either totally oblivious of how vital logistics are to fighting a campaign, or else utterly incompetent at managing them. Either way is a war loser.

  12. It is about a week now and Russia has done nothing to repel the ukraine invasion but instead continued expansion of their occupied areas inside Russia. This hies to show that Putin is no longer invincible.

  13. If Ukraine takes more of Kursk, it won't matter quite so much what succcesses Russia has in the Donbas, because either they'll have to trade territories in a deal or Russia will have to pull troops from there eventually, after which Ukraine can simply redploy to the Donbas and retake the areas it lost. It's also important to note that Ukraine has been creating new reserves for this incursion for months now, so they're not necessarily taking troops away from elsewhere for this.

  14. We didn't see this guy for months then when Ukraine actually have a little success he's all over SKY News again lol. I'm 99% certain he'll disappear again once this Ukraine incursion is mopped up and the Russians continue to gain ground in the Donbass region.

  15. If the Ukrainians continue to advance inside Russia, The Russians have no choice but to halt their offensive inside Ukraine. As of now Putin is being fooled that the Russian army have successfully stop the Ukrainian advance. But soon Putin will find out the truth on how serious the situation is.

  16. Exactly 908 days ago, ruZZia launched its
3 day Special Military Failure. That's the 3rd YEAR of the 3 day 'operation'.

And russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov's military age sons have STILL not signed up for the SMO, choosing instead to hide in Europe.

Ukraine seized more territory in four days than russia gained in four months trying and failing to attack Kharkiv at a cost of tens of thousands of lives.

  17. Crimea is Ukraine 🇺🇦
    Luhansk is Ukraine 🇺🇦
    Donetsk is Ukraine 🇺🇦
    Zaporizhzhia is Ukraine 🇺🇦
    Kherson is Ukraine 🇺🇦
These oblasts have NEVER belonged to russia.
    1991 borders MUST be returned.
    International Law is the LAW.
It's the law that russia signed up to until it didn't suit their agenda.

  18. Russia was caught cheating. It deployed most of its forces inside Ukraine but left the border lightly defended. Now Ukraine is trying to over stretch the Russian army while gaining new territory.
