Anyone know the casualties for the US side? Seems like they got directly hit by RPG, bailed out and ran in the open to get hit again. That’s a pretty damn good ambush.
Talking to himself: “Mohammed, go get ’em.”
So what’s the Coalition strategy here? It looks like some of the soldiers dismounted but the supply trucks (?) kept on driving, which I guess makes sense since they’re unarmoured and can’t defend themselves.
Damn what a horrible spot to be ambushed in. Absolutely no cover at all
Holy they released absolute hell on them.

abu waheeb must have been a fan boy of that long hair dude.
I’m sure being on the receiving end fucking sucked, but that audio has been tampered with to make it sound more intense. Hear how its just one a continued flow even when the image cuts to another angle?
Nowadays, the ambush would be spotted miles away with drones and quickly intercepted.
Those friggin’ switchbacks in the road just repeatedly provide the Taliban with near perfect enfilade. What a nightmare.
These guys back then were RAWDOGGING assault combat
I thought the guy at the beginning was george harrison
It’s an old repost. He had lovely hair, and was really chill before the ambush.
Did i just see a talib hawk tuah on his ak?
Gotta look cute for all those virgins
wasn’t this ANA convoy
I don’t think the time frame for the video is correct. At 17 seconds I see what appears to be a Cougar MRAP. I don’t think the US was fielding MRAP’s in Afghanistan yet as of the early aughts.
How long until thermal drones that can dock with their vehicle for recharge make ambushes much harder if flown in an advance scout capacity? I could see columns having multiple operators to check flanks and forward of coloumn while on the move. Might not help with IEDs but it could remove the element of surprise.
That terrain is absolutely perfect for ambushes like these. It must have been a huge factor in their continued resistance.
Any KIA?
Gotta respect the fighting spirit of these people. No proper training, old used guns, no PPE, just basic clothing, sandals and an AK/RPG
That hair is ON POINT though
Video ended when the C130’s and Apache’s arrived apparently
As a turret gunner in Afghanistan I remember times where my gun was completely ineffective due to not being able to elevate the barrel high enough to cover ridge lines. Even with a Mk-19 there were areas when I just pulled out my M4 and hoped we didn’t get in a nightmare situation like this

If I die, I’ll die pretty.
