  1. They actually did it huh

    Nice

There might be a bit of nuance here tho
    “A low-res planet
satellite image taken today, Aug. 19th, shows that the Russian pontoon bridge between Zvannoye and Glushkovo in Kursk oblast is gone, with smoke rising 500 meters away from where it used to be, on the ‘Russian’ bank. Makes sense if we speak about the withdrawal

The bridge may be deployed and dismantled in a few hours. Nothing says it was hit, rather the withdrawing troops were.”

From the source I got the initial images from

In my opinion tho if retreating troops where hit than there is a high chance that the bridge layer along with the bridge might have also been hit

  2. I mean, of course this was going to happen, the whole river is within striking range of all kinds of ordinance.

  3. I speculated in comments earlier today that I thought the pontoon bridge would not last long and might even have been gone by the time I made my comment. This imagery would be hours old so I believe I was correct.

  4. Was never going to be effective, dumb to put it where there are no roads. I guess ukranian wanted a bit of target practice.

  5. That location was retarded.
Yeah, let’s build a choke point (bridge) at the end of a peninsula that leads to another choke point.

  6. So it actually was at a stupid position. Good job, Russia, when your military tactics are so stupid even a couch potato like me could figure out you screwed up.

  7. Yellow text: понтонная перправа исцезла (Pontoon crossing has disappeared)
    Red text: smoke

  8. Not sure what this is showing. One day there is a pontoon bridge in one location and the next day it has moved. If it was destroyed, it would still be on the river. I can easily see where they would put a pontoon bridge in, and cross that first part, and then need to move the bridge to go over that next part.

  9. Or they had some rare equipment hidden there and wanted to evacuate it. Then the pontoon served its purpose.
