How is there not a good solution for cling film dispensing yet?

  1. Because you bought the cheap stuff. Bacofoil make a cutter and it will probably change your life

  2. I’ve given up using clingfilm. Everything just goes in reusable plastic tubs now. No more getting angry at it getting stuck to everything, including itself, but somehow not the plate.

Also way better for the environment. You can get a pack of 50 reusable tubs off amazon for a tenner. Last forever and great for meal prep.

  3. Costco clingfilm is perfect. The roll would last a deli several months. Perfect dispenser that lasts the whole roll.

  4. there is, it’s called a wrapmaster. they’re expensive and the rolls are £10+ each though.

  5. I bought a catering pack from Makro about three years ago. Comes in a box with a serrated edge AND a slidey cutter thingy. Still got loads left.

  6. You don’t need the box. Take the roll out. Roll up whatever you need to wrap. Lay it on worktop/surface and drape the roll over the edge and pull down. The edge of the work surface will rip it neatly.

  7. Yeah, the hard plastic dispensers with automatic cutting. You’re buying cheap cling film – what did you expect? Spend a bit more and you’ll get a better experience.

  8. It’s way easier if you take it out the box and stop trying to use the shitty cutting edge.

Then you can either use a knife to cut the edge, or poke your thumb through the middle and it’ll tear relatively straight.

  9. Consider it the pancake of the wrapping world, the first attempt is for the bin. It starts behaving when it knows you mean business.

  10. Just open the box correctly! Push the tabs in on both sides to hold the roll. Not difficult
