Yeah so that means there is nothing done yet. Good to know.
And sadly no radiation sickness this time.
Trenches without any fortifications are a really useless thing if you’re a bad trained conscript fighting against well trained and battle hardnend soldier!
Wasted effort really as I doubt Ukraine would directly attack the plant. Perhaps if Ukraine continues to advance in that direction they might surround it or perhaps force Russia to abandon it.
I thought Ukraine wouldn’t go that far in until I really came to understand the map. River to the east, river to the west, allows a deep frontal charge. Just take your time, keep putting Russia into bad situations until it’s time to make the real move
Are the trenches dug where they dispose of contaminated materials there as well?
All according to the plans friends! Nothing to see or worry about.
Almost certainly nothing to actually worry about as I don’t think Ukraine is trying to take the plant. Fun to watch the mental gymnastics around why they’re fortifying and cold storing it though.
It’s only Russia that uses nuclear disaster as a threat, I really doubt Ukraine will threaten theirs.
so to what date has STALKER 2 been rescheduled?
“Build trenches”
Let’s remember why NATO was created for a moment..
Two world wars and still Ukraine is handled like it never happened.
Of course russia will station military equipment in and close to a nuclear power plant, so they can cry to whatever western institutions still fall for it whenever they get bombed.
Latest news are that Ukraine will bring in a higher drone and lift the entire plant from the ground. They will then fly it to Ukraine and name it Zaphoriza v2.
if they get that close, ur kinda fucked even with the trenches….
Nothing says, “We’re a mighty super-power and totally control of all the territory within our borders!” quite as loudly as digging defensive trenches around a power station.
If you check Google Maps, you’ll see that the trench in the photo is located to the north of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, behind the Seim River. The photo also shows the construction site for Kursk NPP-2, identifiable by the cooling towers.
To clarify, there are two nuclear power plants in close proximity:
Kursk-1: An older plant, similar to Chornobyl with RBMK reactors. Two of its reactors were shut down in 2021 and 2024, with the remaining two scheduled to be decommissioned in the 2030s.
Kursk-2: Currently under construction, this new plant will feature four VVER-TOI reactors, although the first unit was supposed to be operational this year but isn’t finished yet. It seems Rosatom has even evacuated the construction workers recently.
Given that Kursk-2 is still under construction and likely lacks operational fuel, an attack on it poses less risk than an attack on Kursk-1. Therefore, the argument that Ukraine wouldn’t attack these trenches due to nuclear accident risks seems less convincing.
Moreover, these trenches are over 3 km away from Kursk-1 reactors, and modern artillery systems are capable of precise strikes without endangering the older plant.
Same guys who dug around the Chreynobl plant.
Oh wait, they’re unavailable now…
no electricity. no harvest. no railway. this is costing Putin a lot and he and Kursk will no longer be such good friends
they are so desperate to defend KNPP, if the Ukrainians can get access to it they could theoretically shutoff power to the entire Kursk region.
Ukraine has stated their plan, unlike the Russians they do not engage in nuclear blackmail as Putin and his gang do on the daily basis!
Ukraine is not going to send shells anywhere near that planet. The Russians are just asking to be surrounded.
By the time you need trenches on your power station grounds you already lost the power station.
i’m picturing that the battle for Kursk NPP will absolutely have mw2 “Whiskey Hotel” mission vibes. Specially if its fought at night lol
Not great, not terrible.
I would redirect the power to Ukraine.
It’s a bit of an ‘end-of-the-world’ look. The first line in a story about the end of civilisation.
They’re shit scared wtf. They obviously had no idea how far Ukraine could get.
Waste of ressources. UA in no way have ressources or wish to get there. Makes no sense.
And again, you have to wonder if there’s intelligent life in Russia
Russians are going to blow that central themselves and blame the Ukrainians
have they finished stacking tires in the cooling towers yet?
Graves, surely?
You know when the navy seals show up in force from inside the plant you just dug a lot of bull shit holes for nothing
In b4 Russia bombs their own plant to justify going full terrorist.
Like, right around it.
It’s unreal how stupid they are….
How close are Ukrainians to the npp right now? Is it a high priority to capture the npp?
‘Oh well it was a good try guys. Let’s turn around and go home…’ said no Ukrainian ever
Well, from Kiev for 3 days, to : will not give up on Moscow 🖕🥳🖕
I think trench shouldn’t be just a straight line but idk not In military
UA dont need the power plant and direct surrounds, just to be in reach with fire control .
If Putin threatens nukes then UA have a trump card and can take down powerlines from the plant and if need be .
Power supplied by this Kursk Nuclear plant is imperative for Ruzzians war machine
811 “Call Before You Dig” not required. Eh, what is the harm, it’s a nuke plant.

Putin: quick war, 3 minutes in and out.
