  1. Hardly surprising, as they’re known to have a taste for lettuce.

  2. So *that’s* why they call it snail mail

    (I’ll get my coat)

  3. why not just get rid of them and put something down to stop them returning? Seems pretty simple really

  4. Happened to the local postbox of a friend of mine down in Cornwall back in the late 80s. The didn’t close the box back then, they just sent out snail-chewed post.

  5. I feel like there are so many easy solutions to this that don’t require closing the postbox.

  6. I’m sure I heard Karl Pilkington talking about this years ago (snails apparently like the stamp glue).

  7. Nobody heard of copper tape in Northumberland? or are the snails abseiling in from the nearby trees?

  8. This happened to a postcard my parents sent decades ago. RM put a sticker on it explaining

  9. Shows just how far Royal Mail have fallen that a snail can eat your post before they collect it

  10. Sounds like something out of one of my nightmares

  11. No-one commenting on how the postbox was stolen recently
