Sadly Russia's strategy will be to push for the Donbas borders, capture all territory in Donetsk, Luhansk and the remaining accessible in Zaporizhzhia then dig in and call the war a success before transferring everything they can to Kursk to push the Ukrainians out and then forcing everyone to sue for peace so they can recover ready for round 2.

30. Zelensky played a wrong card at critical time. Russia's main aim was to capture Pokrovst, a last highly fortified region in Donbas. I guess Russians intentionally left weak places to encourage Ukrainians for doing so. As Ukrainians have moved better trained troops from Donbas to there, It opened a window of opportunity for Russians to increase pressure in Donbas region. Also, Ukrainian troops are now exposed to Russian drones in Kursk which lacks proper fortification and tree cover. I guess Putin will play a trump card: invading Kyiv from Belarus side because Ukraine has already deployed 1/3rd of its forces along Kursk, Bolgrade and Buryansk region. In short, Ukraine is going to pay a huge price for Zelensky's mistake.

37. Russia are taking fortified Ukrainian defence lines since 2014. Ukraine attacked Russian defence line in 2023 summer and nearly made it to the first defence line before being pushed back. Ukrianian taking land in Kursk because it’s not heavily defended, this is a media PR incursion , realistically speaking everyone know Ukriane will hold Kursk as long as Russia lets them. Once winter kicks good luck to the Ukrainians being a long way from supply lines.
