US allows Ukraine to strike strategic targets in Russian territories

US policy permits Ukraine to retaliate to defend itself against Russian attacks originating from the border region of the Sumy region, which includes Russia’s Kursk region. However, the Pentagon is not fully clear on how the Kursk operation aligns with the strategic objectives on the battlefield for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, states Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh.
Singh confirmed that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is scheduled to have another conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umerov, in the coming days. This discussion is expected to include the Ukrainian offensive operation in the Kursk region.
The Pentagon spokesperson stated that the US lacked a clear understanding of Kyiv’s objectives in the Kursk operation but referenced President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s call for a buffer zone. According to Singh, establishing such a zone would require constructing several defensive lines, and the Pentagon reportedly has questions about how the Kursk operation aligns with the strategic objectives on the battlefield for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Singh noted that US policy allows Ukraine to retaliate to defend itself from Russian attacks originating from this border region, which includes the Kursk region and the border of the Sumy region. “So they are defending themselves from Russian attacks from these regions,” Singh said.
Additionally, Singh announced new US defense aid packages for Ukraine, though she did not provide further details.

  6. Wenn sich die Amerikaner den Krieg erklären lassen müssen ist das eine klare Ehrlichkeit. Sie haben keine Ahnung von Krieg, nicht was gerecht oder was ein Verbrechen ist, nicht was ein Ziel und was ein Weg ist.
    Sie können tolle Waffen bauen, Waffen an die Richtigen zu liefern wenn es darauf ankommt und es zu lassen wenn es falsch ist, das schaffen sie nicht.
    Ohne amerikanische Bauteile würde keine russischen Raketen oder Drohnen fliegen.
    Und von Politik jenseits von Briket, V8 Autos, Titties und Bier haben sie keine Ahnung.
    Vielleicht wird das mit der Wahl etwas besser, aber viel wichtiger ist der Rest der Welt.

  8. Why are the Americans constantly second guessing the Ukrainian military. It almost seems like they just want to drag out this war with Russia for as long as possible. If the Americans are truly serious about assisting Ukraine then they should provide Ukrainians with everything they need and let the Ukrainians decide where and when to use these weapons. Otherwise the Ukrainians will continue to fight this war with one hand tied behind their back and the so called Western military experts will continue to fault Ukraine for not being to accomplish much with all the aid that they are being provided with. This is a catch 22 for Ukraine and the Washington administration needs to grow some balls and allow unrestricted use of their weapons on Russian territory so that they can defeat Russia once and for all. This will guarantee future peace in the region and in all of Europe.
