Not shocking DNA results. Both sides of my family (as far as we can trace) come from Hampstead area. Farthest we can trace is five generations above, all London. Could I be inbred?

  1. To provide more context, I was born in the Hampstead area, as were my parents and, as far as we can trace, many generations before them. We even have letters dating back to the 1300s that reference what appears to be the same location.

I have cool family memorabilia from London. One I use to this date for everyday is my grandfather’s coat bought in 1865 in (I believe) what is now Debenhams.

Given how a family tree typically diversifies with each generation, I would have expected to see a wider geographic spread.

However, it seems I was mistaken.

  2. Does anyone in your family say “Yarp!” If so, maybe. But I’m sure you’re all good man 👍
