Not sure Penkridgeians consider themselves Northern (even if using the Midlands/basically the North map that was on CasualUK a few weeks back..) but it does seem a bit Celtic-Mars-Bar territory. I walked past this same shop for the first time yesterday and took a similar photo (cue Twilight Zone music…)
As someone from the North East I hadn’t heard of battered chips until I met my husband from the West Midlands
Battered chips are amazing! Am in Wolvo so have these when we have chippy. Couldn’t go back to regular.
