  1. Well, the committee then must ensure the athlete village has the security it has~

  2. India’s lobbying makes no sense. According to the IOC standards, Olympics has to be in a city already having majority of the facilities, period. India is very welcome to bid when many of the needed infrastructure is ensured. Otherwise the consequences will be enormous not just for the Olympics, also for India.

For now, among the bids only Istanbul has most of required large-scale sports facilities. While Santiago did a great job in PanAm, almost all of their facilities will have to be built again as they are most of them have around 1,000-2,500 capacity.

  3. I live in India and while I love the country, it would be a disaster if we hosted the Olympics.

Both Formula 1 and Moto GP have pulled out of the country because of Indias mishandling of the events. Add the debacle of the commonwealth games scam and India has a clear track record of hosting international sports competition- and it’s not a good one.

  4. People seem to forget that India hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

Its not a matter of IF they can physically host an Olympics, its if everything that went wrong there can be adequately addressed and fixed, and to be brutally honest I don’t see that happening. There were so many infrustrucutre and organisational failures, not to mention the damage that was done to local communities and people with no recourse.

(and no im not just saying this because our whole team nearly died before the opening ceremony)

  5. They can’t even host a badminton tournament without one of our players getting scammed and left without a place to sleep.

  6. Sure, if they want women athletes/tourists  raped and brutalized in a shit-hole.
