It was very difficult to see him at the end of the video. It wasn’t until the complete zoom in.

If he hadn’t tried to drop that flag, it’s unlikely the drone operator would have wasted a payload on a single infantryman. So that’s probably what got him killed.
I’d have thought men who drank the Kool-Aid and are ACTUALLY proud of what they’re doing in Ukraine would be pretty few and far between, that the ones left are in it for the life-changing amounts of money
