Russia: Fire rages for 24 hours at oil depot after Ukrainian drone attack

A fire at an oil storage depot deep inside Russia is still raging more than 24 hours after it was attacked by Ukrainian drones.

Russian authorities blamed the blaze at the facility on the outskirts of Proletarsk, a city in Russia’s southern Rostov region, on fallen debris after the drones were intercepted by air-defence units early on Sunday morning.

“It stored oil and petroleum products that were also supplied to the needs of the Russian occupation army,” Ukraine’s military said in a statement on Sunday, confirming the successful strike.

  1. “Russian authorities blamed the blaze on fallen debris after the drones were intercepted by air-defence units…” It like a doctor saying the surgery was a success but the patient died. The Ukrainian “Kamikaze” drones one-way-mission was to start a fire one way or another!

  2. Remember – nine of thus would be happening if Putin could just learn to live within his own borders. He is bringing devastation to Russian people…..

  3. fallen debris … sure. cool story. i don't know what's worse, the fact that they are lying to make themselves look "better" or the fact that drone debris is more devastating than rUrU's weapons?
imagine being struck down by drone debris xD

  4. This sort of thing is going to destroy Russia ….. Putin could have stayed happy and Powerful if he had not thought '3 days to take Kiev' was the first step to a new Empire.

  5. Gee, I wonder why no one's complaining about all the pollution going up in the air. I think wars should be outlawed. If our politicians really cared about the planet, that's what they would do but they continue to kill, kill, kill and control and want to take over everything

  6. Putin screwed his own country. First he helped Nato get even bigger and closer to his border, then he got the country living in fear. He so deserves this moment
