As for meeting Putin, the main reason I’m skeptical about this is I don’t think there is any partial reason for Putin to talk to him, instead of sending the minister of digital development or somebody similar.
The only moderately plausible conspiracy theory I’ve heard is that Russian oligarchs who possibly lost money or didn’t get their returns from the Telegram ICO (there were unconfirmed rumors about Abramivich and Usmanov allegedly investing it it), who in turn asked Putin to meet Durov to get their money back
We don’t care and there’s no point in repeating what the Kremlin says.
