HomeWorldConflictsUkrainian 49th Separate Engineering Assault Brigade breaching Russian minefields and lines of obstacles during invasion into Kursk Oblast, August 2024
Am I the only one who though there was some flies on my screen at the beginning?
This is epic
This timeline is wild, I get to see miclics and deployed bridges whilst heavy Western armour rolls into Russia. Proper Cold War redux, I’m having trouble processing it all.
What defences an I seeing at 0:06? Three rows of dragons teeth? fence behind? is that a ditch in front?
Then multiple mine-clearing line charge?
Sumy to the right.
Sudzha and Dyakonovo to the left.
I think this is not ‘during’ the Kursk invasion, this is literally the start of it.
I’ve always thought those dragons teeth were a terrible idea. They’re really only a net benefit to the attacker if they get forgotten about by the defender, since they give a false sense of security. If it only takes the attacker a few hours of combat engineering and laying explosives to remove them and mines, then it’s really of no benefit
