The station was closed in March 2003, the first reactor having been in use for nearly 47 years. Decommissioning started in 2005. The site is expected to be in safe storage by 2027.
I’m getting Chernobyl vibes from this photo
Electricity generation was really it’s secondary function, it’s main one was material for nuclear weapons.
The best time to build nuclear was probably 20 years ago, 2nd best time is NOW

We’re still waiting on our first plant, 50 years later…
The first one was in Obninsk, Kaluga region, USSR in 26.06.1954.
