  1. Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a graphic I created ( with visme ) that illustrates my struggles with addiction over the past 15 years, from when I was 18 until now at 32. As I slowly get my life back on track, I thought it would be nice to have a visual representation of my journey. The focus is primarily on the substances I consumed during this period. As well as my level of happiness ( which of course if not only related to my substance abuse )

It’s now been 1 year since I’ve almost entirely stopped all forms of consumption, and I find myself at the beginning of a much better phase in life. I felt it was the right time to reflect and share my progress here.

**To get to the heart of this message, I’ve illustrated my addictions on a scale:**

    0-5: Non-problematic use

5-10: Problematic use with an impact on daily life

    10-15: Obsessive use

**I’ve also added a happiness scale in the background (in transparent green):**

    0-5: Depressed / Unhappy

    5-10: Moderately happy

    10-15: Very happy

  2. cause and effect would be nice to add. Also you never fully stopped of just too short of a timeframe?

  3. Really interesting and intuitively presented – thank you OP. I wish you much more green histogram in the future.

  4. looks interesting, I can almost guarantee that your happiness pitfalls are because of the previous jumps in mdma usage.

When using MDMA you can build up issues where your body takes a while to recover the serotonin that it dumps due to the mdma.

occasional rare use is fine but repeated use can give you severe depression like we see here.

You’re essentially borrowing future “happiness” to use it here and now.
