  1. Just appears to be very highly correlated to cost of living in the area. Hard to tell where you’re actually better off in real terms.

  2. My dentist simply refuses to higher/retain hygenists when they’re asking for six figures to do relatively routine and straightforward cleanings.

    It’s all supply/demand, but it pretty crazy they can command what they do for what the job actually entails.

    He even knows of a dentist friend who enlisted his wife to be a hygenist for him, who had no experience before.

    I have no dog in the fight, but seems pretty ripe for some reimagining of “certification” to get more supply of able bodied, but qualified hygenists into the workforce.

  3. Isn’t there a sub that’s dedicated to maps that end up just showing population density? I swear there was one. More population density -> greater cost of living -> higher salary
