Once again, the Paris 2024 organizing committee has taken the Games out of the stadium to offer it to as many people as possible (see my previous comment on "Games Wide Open"). In total there will be:

  • 35k paid tickets in the "stadium", a temporary venue on the Place de la Concorde

  • 15k free tickets along the delegations' path into the stadium, the famous Champs-Élysées Avenue

  • and 15k free tickets for the Jardin des Tuileries, where people will be able to watch the Flame be lit again

Just like at the Olympics, inclusivity will be at the heart of the ceremony. The show is named "Paradox", and will evoke the integration of disabled people into society. It will feature 16% of disabled performers, to represent the 16% of people living with a disability in the world.

Start time: 20:00 local time (UTC+2)

End time: 23:00, 23:30, 0:00? I've heard all three! So we'll see

From what I heard, the show will open with a medley of popular songs, then there should be an aerial show, and then, at 20:20, the athletes' parade will start.

Some links to wait:

ARE YOU READY??

  1. I’m in the time zone of the next summer Olympics (naturally inconvenient for this year’s Games), but I’m psyched to watch it later after work on Peacock!
