Connecting internet

Hello!
I've moved in Stuttgart not long ago and I'm trying to figure out how to set up WiFi.
I made a contract with Vodafone, they delivered the router (Vodafone Station) and the cables and the service got activated.
I have this media socket, and this cable. (In the pictures)

So far I've figured out that I'm supposed to put this cable in the bottom hole of the socket, but can't do it and I don't want to force it in not to destroy the cable.
The cable doesn't have a thread either so it won't stay in.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need some sort of adapter?

Also, this is my first time setting up a router. So I just followed the instructions provided with it and on the Vodafone website. I tried calling the customer support, but the lady couldn't help me in English and my German is not advanced enough to talk about cables 😅

  1. the pin inside your plug goes in the hole in the middle, and then you have to push the cable on the socket with some force.

Usually these cable connectors come with a screw cap, but yours seems to be spring loaded instead which means you need to push.

Alternatively go buy another cable with a normal screw connection, the socket is called type f if I remember correctly. What you have there is called a quickfix F plug.

As long as you aligned the small cable in the middle of your connector with the hole in the middle of the socket before you push it should not damage anything.
