  1. How do you even collect this data and perform at the same time?! Is this some sort of joke within a joke? … you should consider keeping data for other comics and sell it to them, i see a market there.

  2. Sorry! But maybe stick to your comedy. Some of these plots are vague and confusing. Some of the axis values have no description. This is a classic case of overdoing it “because I can!” I mean, what conclusions can I draw from these?

  3. I’m also a comic (Rhode Island 9 years I suck) and I work with data. Do you record your sets? Could probably do some type of audio analysis for crowd laughter, volume, and duration for each joke.

I’m thinking either export to transcription and hope maybe the transcription can pick up the timestamp of the laughter and then throw it in audacity or something find the timestamps – compare the volume and duration. Or assign buckets so you can kinda grade the jokes.

Or not – idc – I’m just enjoying talking about my two favorite things don’t mind me.

  4. You need to get in touch with Matt Parker, another standup comedian. One of his shows is called “an evening of unnecessary detail” and you will a perfect fit.

  5. Man you got some mad tenacity to do a joke that wasn’t successfully funny 16 times to get success. That’s freaking awesome. You should do a bit on that.

Imagine the exasperation, go through the OCD level of
logging it all, the pain, the suffering. Then tell them the worst joke you have ever done and act offended when it doesn’t work.

  6. I can tell you’re definitely not the PowerPoint comedian Don McMillan.

Kidding aside not the most beautiful plots but still conveys information.
