Ukraine Uses US-Made F-16s to Fight Back, Russia Targets Energy Grid in Massive Attack

Ukraine’s president said for the first time that his country’s air force used American-made F-16 fighter jets to intercept a barrage of Russian missiles and drones in recent days.

On Tuesday, Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine’s energy grid.

“The Russians continue to try to destroy Ukrainian critical infrastructure,” John Hardie with the Washington, D.C.-based Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, told CBN News. “Since March, they focused especially on Ukrainian electricity production capacity and have really devastated that capacity.”

  5. These jets are old, air national guard fighters, 20 years out of date electronically, suicide to fly against modern Soviet fighters. Target practice for the Russians. It's all about the electronics.

  14. The pilot who died was a seasoned airman and reportedly a standout in his F-16 retraining class. Unfortunately, Russian and US made aircraft are distinctly different in instrumentation and flying characteristics.
    A left-handed boxer can be trained to fight right-handed but, when hit with a disorienting punch will ALMOST ALWAYS revert to his original form.
    Same goes for pilots. Learn new recognition clues and muscle memory are hard to UNLEARN.
    PROBABLY best to start with cadet recruits in F-16s. Learn rather than re-learn.
