  1. How doesn’t Aragon doesn’t descend from the romans but the USA does? And does Portugal descend from Brasil?

  2. Mohamed here had to rely on a map that puts USA closer to the Roman Empire than almost any european country, or Philippines closer than French Republic 😂 copium overdose

  3. Ah yes, the only four kingdoms to come out of the Western Roman Empire: England (wasn’t even a thing by then), Francia, Italy, and the Kingdom of the Visigoths.

This is the most cherry-picked post on the sub and of course it was made by a deluded monarchist from the place with awful weather and worse-than-awful “people”.

  4. Ah yes, the Portuguese republic which famously descends from the Brazillian Empire

  5. I mean its more like:

Western Roman Empire -> various Romano-British kingdoms -> various Anglo-Saxon kingdoms -> Kingdom of England.

  6. You forgot the 2nd Empire and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Republic, as well as Vichy France while you’re at it.

  9. Oh yes, the only province that never produced even a senator.

It must be rough having to borrow our culture just to get a whiff of greatness. Now, kindly return to your barren rock wasteland, you barbarian.

  10. Wow, that’s not correct at all. There are a few more steps before England became the UK.

Rome abandons Britain 407 the tribe of Gewisse settles the Thames valley.

    Wessex formed 519

    Vassals of Mercia 645

    Wessex independent 648

    Kingdom of Anglo-Saxons formed 886

    England formed 927

    North Sea Empire formed 1013

England broke out of the union 1042

    Commonwealth of England formed 1649

    Back to monarchy 1660

Kingdom of Great Britain formed 1707

Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland formed 1801

Renamed in 1927 to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

That’s your history, read it. Fun stuff. And no, King Arthur didn’t magically create a kingdom the day the romans left.

  11. Easterm Roman Empire and Byzantine Empire listed separately… Yeah OP’s knowledge of history comes solely from Paradox games.

  12. So the Roman empire of England is equal to the Anglosaxon England and everything inbetween but the Kingdom of Italy is different from the Kingdom of Italy?

Seems like someone really wanted to push something
