Ukraine claims strike on Russian oil refinery in Rostov

The Atlas oil depot in Rostov, southern Russia, has continued to burn more than 24 hours after being attacked by Ukrainian forces.

The facility is nearly 200 kilometres east of the front line and reportedly specialises in supplying the Russian Armed Forces.

Further blasts were reportedly heard at the refinery overnight, according to Russian media.

The strike comes while tanks were still on fire at another Rostov oil depot, 10 days after it was attacked.

  1. So basically if Ukraine was allowed to strike Russia with Western weapons, Ukraine would go straight for the oil refineries and push up the price of oil for Europe and USA….literally the only reason Ukraine is not allowed to strike Russia.

  2. This is exactly the kind of thing I was waiting for. Rostov is the main rail hub supplying Russia's attack on the eastern front of Ukraine. And winter is on the way, which is, ironically, what stopped Napoleon from invading Russia before.

  3. These are symbolic attacks and have no real impact on the battlefield. Ukrainian front lines are collapsing as we speak. We need to end this war, Ukraine has already lost strategically and nothing can be done to turn it around.

  4. If Russia can use weapons from other Countries to target Ukraine, why cant Ukraine use weapons form other Countries to target Russia. They will not win this if they dont bring the fight to Russia.
