  1. If that is the coping mechanism that helps you get through the day – sure!

  2. What? No.

Until unification we had a fun affair with Pierre, now we’re in a situationship with Luigi. Fritzls are 2nd worst type of germans.

  3. If it was true we wouldn’t have had centuries of alliances with Bavaria against Austria.

  4. It’s more of a mutual disdain for the Northerners and a shared heritage that makes us fond of each other, but I wouldn’t call it a bond.

  5. Austrians are just b tier Bavarians that were carried by over performing Royalty.

With the Habsburgs gone, Austrians are back at their roots, being a less important, less successful b-tier Bavaria.

  6. While i respect our shared cultural heritage and dialect family I can’t help but feel like my Bavarian brothers become more and more absorbed into mainstream German culture in recent years.

Thoughts and prayers. Please don’t convert to Piefke.

  7. If their bond is so strong, why are they in different countries?

  8. What is the difference between Austrians and Germans (Serious Question)?

  9. The only thing these two unites is the hate for everything which is further north than themselves

  10. I mean there are other parts in the world where loving your sibling is ok, like really loving them.

  11. I think there’s more connection between Austria and Südtirol

  12. I wouldn’t go so far as to call a shared disdain for the Prussians a bond.

  13. What’s the matter? Just take it already, meine Alpenscheißer!

  14. I’m not gonna lie, I was wondering why Scotland was holding the little shit.

  15. These kinds of posts makes me want to learn German just to enjoy the regional banter. Europe was probably way more fun before boring national states homogenised and ruined everything.

  16. Not really when half of Bavaria is just Saupreißn in denial

  17. The implication that Austria is ready for full reintegration into its One True (TM) owner’s fold worries me…

  18. “The Bavarian is halfway between the Austrian and a human being.”

    – Otto von Basedmark

(Apparently in the original quote it was Alsatian instead if Austrian, which makes it even more hilarious to me that he went to war with France over it and kicked their asses)

  19. The bond between an austo-bavarian and his cousin or sister

  20. As Bismarck once said: Bavarians are the missing link between humans and monkeys, or something along that line…
