Ukrainian pilot killed in crash flying F-16 fighter jet gifted from Nato allies | BBC News

One of the F-16 fighter jets sent from Nato allies to Ukraine has been destroyed, a Ukrainian military source has told the BBC.

The aircraft went down amid a barrage of Russian missiles on Monday, killing pilot Oleksiy Mes after he destroyed three cruise missiles and one drone in Russia’s largest aerial attack to date, Ukraine’s military said.

It marks the first loss of its kind since the planes were delivered earlier this month.

  2. This is the third version of what happened to the pilot and his plane! How is that possible? Who is blatantly lying or spreading false news? So now the BBC has decided to tell us it has crashed. I thought I would listen and judge the title. Perhaps it is true and indeed it crashed insinuating pilot error. The interviewer suggests to wait for the final investigation, assuming during war anything is true. Eventually they all crash even if blown to bits on the air or ground? So perhaps the BBC is right, then. For heaven's sake, just give us a break. Why should Anybody believe Anything the BBC (and other media with an agenda that's not aligned to seeking and reporting the truth) have to say about anything. Perhaps one day we may again start to listen when truthfulness and independent investigative journalism returns. But that day is not today….

    Best ukrainian pilot was shot on 1st combat mission by "friendly fire" of ukrainian Patriot anti-aircraft missile.
    This pilot was ardently lobbying F16 to be sent to ukraine.

F16 is useable by English Israeli on top Palestinian that has nothing but stones all Arab been blended by king Laurence ever since they freed from Turkish ottoman empire but Ibrahim tanks challenger markava leopard storm shadow himars is proven to be less effective against Russia let alone china that not even used anything my advice is to stop war before Russian goes to paradise and west with their Islamic puppet to hell
